Wayne E. Garber is a retired executive search consultant and human resource management professional for several professional service firms and lives in Williamsburg, Virginia. He founded Wayne Garber & Associates, Inc., a Vienna, Virginia, based executive search firm, and was its president and CEO for seven years. Wayne is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Wayne developed an interest in local history and family genealogy. His first work, The History of New Hope Virginia, The Past Two Hundred Years, 2006, was co-authored with Owen Early Harner. Tucked away in the northeast corner of Augusta County is the farming village of New Hope - a community that has borne witness to historical events large and small for more than two centuries. Indeed, New Hope's roots go back to the earliest Shenandoah Valley settlers. The book brings to light images and information about the community's people, houses, businesses, and organizations. His second book entitled Johannes "John H." Garber, His Descendants in the Shenandoah Valley is history brought to life. The book captures a slice of Americana from its infancy as seen through the life of one typical but interesting family. The book has stories about: why some immigrants came to America in the early 1700s, what they faced after they arrived, and what they contributed to America's infrastructure. Learn about seven generations of Garber history and their relationships to the Bowman, Cline, Flory, Garber, Glick, Harner, Huffman, Landis, Miller, Myers, Norford, Reed, Sanger, Shifflett, Stoner, Stover, Wampler, Wine, and many other Shenandoah Valley families.
